NASA has published a map showing that since 2000, the world has generally been greening. With astonishing as it may seem, China and India are the main vectors of this greening. When we think that it is precisely those who pollute the most, and have been doing so for decades – a movement that is not about to be reversed with the pace of economic development that these countries are experiencing – this is good news in the world’s current context.
But the fight against climate change is far from over. According to the map, many areas have lost much vegetation cover, mainly in Brazil and southern South America, eastern Africa, central Asia, South-East Asia and in Australia.
