Micronesia is a federal state of the Western Pacific located in part of the archipelago of the Caroline Islands. It is composed of four states. A small country in area (607 islands and 725 km2 in total) located on a huge area of the Pacific (2900 km long, with an exclusive economic zone of 2,992,415 km2 ), its neighbors are Palau to the west, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands to the north, Marshall Islands to the east, Nauru and Papua New Guinea to the south.
