It will not have escaped anyone, or almost, that the world in which we live is deeply unequal, at various levels, and in various places. Not just in terms of fundamental human rights, such as freedom of thought, access to education, clean water, a healthy environment, toilets, a roof, food, and so on. Around these many issues remains a fundamental phenomenon that governs our lives to all, the economy. And its corollary, economic inequality, erected as a global system, as we can see.
It is indeed with his income, his wealth, his savings, that everyone has access to different services and products, can or can not build a life in accordance with his needs and desires.
A scientific report has just been published by the World Wealth and Income Database (WID.world), a global database on wealth and income. The goal of the “2018 Global Inequality Report” is to contribute to a more informed global debate on economic inequality by bringing the most recent and comprehensive data to public discussion. This report was made by more than a hundred economists from around the world.
Here are several interesting graphs that demonstrate, scientifically and without any doubt, the evolution of global economic inequalities in recent decades. Informative, and edifying. To share.
Humanity remains the choice for the next decades. Even more inequalities in an ever richer world? This is the scenario towards which the world is currently tending. Why ? Is it really the choice of peoples? Or do the peoples of this world all believe that they do not have this choice and that they must resign themselves?
